On a level landscape. An area of c. 17 ha (c. 42 acres) contains relict field banks creating rectangular fields (dims c. 50m x 100m to c. 100m x 200m) defined by earthen banks (Wth c. 2m; H c. 0.4m). Also within the area are lines of pits (RO021-069003-) (dims c. 10m x 2m; D 0.3m) aligned E-W which are placed c. 10-30m apart, the lines being c. 30-40m apart. At the S edge of the fields there is an E-W roadway (RO021-069002-) (Wth 6-8m; surviving L c. 200m) defined by earth and stone banks (Wth 1.5-2m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.6-0.8m). A drystone wall and townland boundary with Gortnasillagh is its N boundary. It is indicated as extending c. 300m further W on the 1837 OS 6-inch map, and it would have met road (RO027-013----) c. 350m E of the surviving section. Attached to the road on the N side is a rectangular enclosure (RO021-069004-) (int. dims 29.5m E-W; 19m N-S) defined by earth and stone banks (Wth 2.3-2.7m; int. H 0.4-0.7m; ext. H 0.4-1m) and a silted fosse or drain (Wth c. 2m; D 0.2-0.5m) on all sides except the S. There is local knowledge of a church site (RO021-069005-) S of the roadway in Glenvela in an area which is now reclaimed.
