The National Monuments Service's description

The parish church of Kilcolagh, listed as Kiltoulach and described as deserted in the ecclesiastical taxation of Elphin (Cal. doc. Ire.. vol. 5, 223). Situated on a low rise. It was dedicated to Ingheana Cathbhadh, the (7) daughters of Cathbhadh, and cousins of Bridget of Kildare (Ó Rian 2011, 379). The base of the N (L 14.5m) and W (L 6m) walls survive as grass-covered stone spreads (Wth c. 2.5m; H 0.3m). There is no evidence of burial, although a rectangular graveyard (RO010-073002-) (dims c. 30m E-W; c. 25m N-S) is marked on the 1837 and 1914 eds. of the OS 6-inch map. It is within an enclosure (RO010-073004-) (diam. c. 30m) represented by a low scarp (H 0.3-0.5m) SE-SW which is obscured elsewhere by N-S field banks to the E and W of the church, an E-W field bank N of the church, and a abandoned farmyard to the E. There is a bullaun stone (RO010-073003-) (dims 0.7m x 0.4m; H 0.2m) with a single oval basin (dims 0.35m x. 0.26m; D 0.15) just S of the church. Barrow (RO010-072----) is c. 80m to the N.
