The National Monuments Service's description

On the N-facing slope of a ridge beside the S bank of the W-E Boyle River, c. 1km from where it enters Lough Key. D-shaped, wedge-shaped and rectangular grass-covered fields (average dims. c. 30m x 25m) cover an area of 4.5 ha. The field boundaries are defined by earthen banks (Wth 4-5m), scarps (H 0.3-1.5m) and grass-covered, stone spreads. Archaeological excavation in a field to the SE recovered a further portion as a field drain (L 11m; Wth 1m; D 0.3m) (Read 2009a). A disused grass-covered roadway (RO006-026004-) (L c. 150m; Wth 5.5-6m) runs NE-SW through the field-system. It may have been connected with the road (RO006-027----) c. 400m to the NE on the other side of the river, and with the road (RO006-077002-) c. 2km to the S. The church (RO006-026001-) and souterrain (RO006-026002-) are within the area.
