The National Monuments Service's description
At the crest of a low E-W rise overlooking a SW-NE section of the Boyle River, which is c. 350m to the N. Circular grass and rush-covered area (diam. 32m E-W; 29m N-S) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth 2.5-3.35m; int. H 0.4-0.65m; ext. H 1-1.6m) SE-WSW which is incorporated into a field bank NE-SE, and a complete fosse (Wth of top 4.8-5m; D 0.1-0.45m) which is reduced to a berm (Wth 5m) at S. There is an outer bank (at W: Wth 5.8m; ext. H 0.5m) S-NNW, with an outer fosse (Wth of top 4.4m; D 0.2m) SW-NW, but there is no identifiable original entrance. Rath (RO005-030002-) is immediately to the W.
