The National Monuments Service's description
John O'Donovan, writing c. 1837 (O'Flanagan 1931,100), says that there was a village and a market here around the Assylin church (RO005-020001-), but he gives no documentary reference, and there is no map or other evidence of it. Its precise location is not known.
