The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on top of an E-W ridge in mountainous area. Circular area (diam. 19m N-S; 13m E-W) enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 2.2m; ext. H 1m; int. H 0.5m) with no evidence of an entrance feature or outer fosse. Field boundary intersects site from N to S, enclosing bank forms part of field boundary from S to N.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
