The National Monuments Service's description

On a slight terrace on the W side of a ridge in undulating countryside. Roughly circular mound (H 1.5m; diam. 7m E-W; diam. 5.5m N-S ) enclosed by a wide fosse (Wth 2m) which is barely discernible with external bank (Wth 1m; ext. H 0.5m).

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
