The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on W facing slope of high ground in mountainous area. Located in area of recent forest plantation making examination impossible. According to local information site consisted of a circular area enclosed by an earthen bank and external fosse with possible entrance gap at S. W side of site raised to compensate for hill slope.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
