The National Monuments Service's description

Situated on W facing slope of rising ground in upland area. Circular area (diam 30m) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 3 - 4m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 1m) which appears to have been enlarged by field clearance debris. There is slight evidence of an external fosse with no evidence of an entrance feature. The interior of the site follows the natural slope of the hill from E to W.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
