The National Monuments Service's description

All that remains of this destroyed ringfort is the S portion of the enclosing earthen bank which now acts as a field fence and possible external fosse. Impossible to examine these features due to dense overgrowth. No other features visible. Situated on high ground in upland area. Depicted as irregular shaped enclosure on 1912 edition of the OS 6-inch map.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
