Pewter Vessel found 1 foot (0.3m) deep in a swamp, near a castle (OF036-014001-) and a deserted medieval village (Halpin 1984). No surface remains visible of any deserted medieval village in the townland of Annaghmore and Annaghbeg.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
