The National Monuments Service's description

Not visible at ground level. According to the local farmer the site was an old gravel pit that had been subsequently filled in. Present remains consist of a slight hollow depression with fragments of a small low bank visible in places. Of dountful archaeological significance.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
