The National Monuments Service's description

A single piece of brushwood (diam. 0.05m), found displaced in the bottom of the drain, which has been worked to a chisel point and has some bark still present. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1998. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
