The National Monuments Service's description

Marked on all ed. OS 6-inch maps but on the 1913 ed. it is hachured as an area enclosed by a fosse with an entrance at the WSW. The site is now levelled but an outline of it could be seen in the beet crop at the time of visit.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
