The National Monuments Service's description

Located on the field surface at the drain edge in a Bord Na Móna bog, this site consisted of two staked (length 0.36-0.43m); (diam. 0.04-0.05m) and a piece of brushwood (diam. 0.035m). The stakes were set almost vertically and were in very good condition. One stake was cut to a pencil point with three faces and four flat facets (max. length 0.05m, width 0.042m), the second was cut to a wedge point with opposing faces with two flat facets (max. length 0.04, width 0.042). The piece of brushwood lay horizontally on the field surface and was ex-situ, noticeably dried out and bleached. The site lay in moderately humified orange/brown sphagnum peat with occasional Eriophorum. Additional pieces of ex-situ worked brushwood lay in the vicinity of this site suggesting that it may once have been more substantial.
