Two oak planks and ten pieces of brushwood orientated approximately ENE-WSW with a vertical peg (L 5m; Wth 0.55m; D 0.1m), on the field surface. The planks may have been laid end-to-end originally but the plank to the W appears to have been displaced. Most of the brushwood (diam. 0.02-0.045m) is on the N side of the plank (L 0.048m; Wth. 0.21m; D 0.1m) to the E, with 1-2 pieces on top of it. The peg is situated c. 0.2m from the E end of the plank. Woodworking is evidenced by toolmarks and tearmarks on one piece of brushwood and by toolmarks at one end of the plank. The site is in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with Eriophorum and Menyanthes seeds. This site was dendrochronologically dated to 1418±9 BC (Q9790). Additional material thought to be part of SMR OF030-064---- was noted in the drain face of the adjacent field 0.3m below SMR OF030-060----. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1998. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
