The National Monuments Service's description
Six pieces of brushwood (L 1.42m; Wth 0.59m; D 0.25m), laid two pieces deep. The majority of the pieces (diam. 0.02-0.05m) are orientated approximately WNW-ESE but overall the pieces are irregularly laid and widely spaced. One element has a degraded chisel point. The site is in moderately to well-humified Sphagnum peat with Eriophorum, some Phragmites and a large amount of Menyanthes seeds. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1998. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
