The National Monuments Service's description
Unlocated possible burial mound that was known as the 'Hill of the Oxen' (Comerford 1883, 199). This mound was associated with a battle that took place at the Togher (OF026-040----) (O'Flanagan 1933, vol. 1, 45).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
