The National Monuments Service's description
Holy well located just outside the W side of earthen ramparts (OF025-017----) associated with nearby monastic site (OF025-017----). The well is very overgrown with many architectural fragments from the nearby Abbey (OF025-017----) lying around the well. (Cooke 1875, 256; O' Flanagan 1933, vol. 1, 25; Comerford 1883, 190-2)
