The National Monuments Service's description

This site was levelled 10 - 15 years ago according to the present landowner. Barely discernible outline of a circular area (diam 50m E-W) with nearby ringfort (OF023-010) to the E. Described by Wheeler (1958) as a platform ringfort consisting of a circular raised area (diam 50m; 40m E-W; ext. H 2m) planted with beech trees defined by a scarp with no evidence of an external fosse or entrance feature.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
