The National Monuments Service's description
An archaeological complex, which is approximately oval in shape (dims. 7.85m E-W x 8.56m N-S; D 0.21m) that may be composed of a number of closely associated but separate structures. The composition of the site varies from dense deposits to isolated single pieces of mixed brushwood, roundwoods and timbers. In the W part of the site the material is regularly laid orientated either NE-SW or NNE-SSW. In the S it consists of irregularly laid and densely packed light brushwood with a vertical peg. A number of pieces share a NE-SW orientation, however, the wood has been extensively disturbed by milling. This material lies in poorly to moderately humified Sphagnum peat with some ericaceous remains. SMR OF019-124----, is located c. 10m to the N and SMR OF019-059---- is 3.3m to the E. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2002. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
The original survey description was compiled by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin). Assessed and revised by: Caimin O'Brien, Paul Walsh
