The National Monuments Service's description
There is a field adjacent to Clonarrow House which is known locally as a burial site though no surface traces survive. About 500m N of the burial ground there is a field known locally as the `Church Field' (OF018-034----) which may have been connected to the burial ground. No surface traces of any church were visible in this graveyard. Comerford (1883, 306) describes the site as an ancient and long disused graveyard.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
