The National Monuments Service's description
Site of a natural hillock which had a field drain enclosing its base. The drain has been filled in since, and there are no man-made features visible on the hillock. Of doubtful antiquity. Potential enclosure identified from GSI aerial photographs (GSI N 534/5).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
