The National Monuments Service's description

All that remains is a low rise located in the field immediately to the S of a nearby motte (OF016-032001-). Two cross slabs (OF016-033001/002-) and human teeth were found in this mound (Davies 1942) and are now housed in the National Museum. Marked as circular enclosure on 1st ed. of OS 6-inch map. This earthwork was described in 1942 as 'A low mound with very little depth of soil , close to mote, no clear traces of fosse or ramparts, rising about 6 feet from surrounding field and close to mote. Now tilled. Shown as fort on 1835 OS 6-inch map. In it found two cross-slabs, now in Dublin Museum and human teeth' (ITA Survey 1942).

Two early Cristian cross-slabs (OF016/033001/002-) now in the National Museum (collection L 1935:3-4) were discovered in a mound or fort in the field immediately to the S of the motte (JRSAI 26, 320; ITA Survey 1942). Small circular earthwork indicated on first edition of the OS 6-inch map and surveyed in 1942 for the ITA survey. (O' Flanagan 1933, vol. 1, 32; Moran 1962, 45; Reynolds-Dunlevy and Haworth 1975, 59; Loeber 1981, 290)
