The National Monuments Service's description
A small spread (L 1.4m min.; Wth 1.45m min.; D 0.058m) of mixed brushwood orientated N-S on the field surface. The majority of the material is located on the E side of the spread, which appears to have been disturbed at its S limit. The remaining piece of brushwood is 0.68m to the W. The brushwood (diam. 0.015-0.058m) is in good condition. A dressed piece of hazel brushwood (92E148:30) was recovered and other metal-cut toolmarks are noted. Ash, alder, birch, hazel and Pomoideae were the species identified. The material sits below a mat of Eriophorum. This site may relate to SMR OF007-342----, located 5m to the SE. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
The original survey description was compiled by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin). Assessed and revised by: Caimin O'Brien, Paul Walsh
