The National Monuments Service's description
A deposit (Wth 3m; D 0.28m) of brushwood, twigs and a plank in opposing drain faces. Towards the NW end of the deposit, the wood is more concentrated and consists of irregularly laid twigs and light brushwood, (Wth 0.76m). The plank, (Wth 0.14; D 0.06m) is tangentially split and located to the SE of this concentration at a slightly higher level. Further to the SE, a number of heavier brushwood pieces are noted. A clear structure cannot be discerned and the relationship between the components is difficult to ascertain. Evidence for woodworking and branch-trimming is present. Wood species include hazel, birch, alder and ash. The site is located within moderately humified Sphagnum peat. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
