The National Monuments Service's description
A sparse deposit of wood in opposing drain faces. In one drain face, this consists of a single, tangentially split oak timber sitting upright at an angle of 85°, running into the drain base. At the base of the opposing drain face, two horizontal pieces of light oak brushwood are recorded. At a slightly higher level, a further piece of light alder brushwood is noted. The relationship between these pieces, if any, is not clear. Evidence for woodworking is confined to the split oak timber. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
