The National Monuments Service's description
A plank walkway (L 24.9m; Wth 0.8m; D 0.22m) orientated NE-SW on the field surface. The initial sighting consists of two longitudinally laid, parallel planks and a transverse. One of the longitudinal planks is tangentially split, the other is a squared, radial split. They appear to have been sawn and have other metal toolmarks. An additional element was partially exposed beneath the two longitudinals. This may represent a substructural component of the site. The transverse plank is a half-split ash roundwood that most likely supplied substructural support to similar longitudinal timbers which are no longer extant. It is located c. 0.2m S of the longitudinals. The transverse timber has metal toolmarks at one end and may also have saw marks. The second sighting consists of a longitudinal plank supported by a transverse plank substructure. The elements may have been set perpendicular to one another originally. The site was dendrochronologically to 1547±9 BC (Q9255) and is situated in well-humified Sphagnum peat.
