The National Monuments Service's description
Fragmentary sandstone cross-slab (dims. 0.2m x 0.18m x 0.05m) unearthed by Kendrick during his excavations in 1935 at Gallen priory. Described by Macalister as 'terminal of cross-arm with interlacing patttern' (Macalister 1949, 75). This slab bears an inscription O~[--, which can be expanded to O[ROIT DO-- (Macalister 1949, 75). According to Macalister `This [inscription] appears to be complete, except for a slight damage to the M: the names, however, may be abbreviated' (Macalister 1949, 75.
