The National Monuments Service's description
An irregular deposit (Wth 0.36m; D 0.21m) of brushwood (av. diam. 0.02m) and an artefact with further material in the vicinity. The artefact was located on the N extent of the deposit. The artefact (01E0477:2) consists of two broken forks of a hazel rod (diam. 0.021m). The wood is in good condition and set in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with Eriophorum. Radiocarbon dated to cal. AD 1682-1955 (UCD 0218). Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2001. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
