The National Monuments Service's description
A deposit (L 0.54m min.; Wth 0.5m; D 0.32m) of one roundwood (diam. 0.09m) above seven pieces of brushwood (diam. 0.015-0.04m). The roundwood is lies across the exposed ends of the brushwood. A worked end is present on one piece of brushwood and there is branch-trimming on the roundwood. The wood is in good condition and in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with some ericaceous remains and fibrous roots. Further pieces of brushwood are evident in the opposing drain face but their relationship is unclear. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2001. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
The original survey description was compiled by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin). Assessed and revised by: Caimin O'Brien, Paul Walsh
