The National Monuments Service's description
Davies 1942 (ITA Survey) describes site as an oval fort (int. dims. 64 x 32.92m) delimited by a bank and external fosse. SW sector dug away to make a pond. Site no longer discernible as an antiquity in 1977 and levelled by 1991.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
