The National Monuments Service's description

Not visible at ground level. Bulldozed for gravel about 20 years ago. Described by Davies (1942) as poorly preserved circular area (diam 59yds E-W) enclosed by bank and external fosse (Wth 3ft) all of which has been destroyed from N to S by quarrying. Probable ringfort.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
