The National Monuments Service's description
There was no surface evidence of any enclosure in the area marked on the aerial photographs taken in (GSI N 533/4) . This area has recently been drained and was probably destroyed during land improvements.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
