The National Monuments Service's description
A deposit (L 1.4m min.; Wth 0.3m; D 0.1m) of brushwood, roundwoods and planks. The elements are orientated NW-SE on the field surface. The main concentration of wood spans a width of 0.3m but an outlying piece of brushwood to the W and a plank to the E give an overall width of 1m. Evidence for woodworking is confined to a degraded, radially split plank within the main cluster of pieces and the outlying plank, which has a wedge point at one end and a pencil point at the other. The latter piece has been damaged by milling and desiccation and is possibly ex situ. Wood species include holly and oak. The site is situated on moderately humified Eriophorum and Sphagnum peat. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1993. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
