The National Monuments Service's description
A single piece of roundwood (diam. 0.1m), with some associated oak fragments (Wth 0.18m; D 0.14m). The absence of woodworking may indicate that this site is non-archaeological. The site SMR OF007-187---- is only 1m to the N and 6m to the S is SMR OF007-189----, indicating that there was subsequent archaeological activity in the area. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 1996. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
