The National Monuments Service's description
This site (L 391.75m min.; Wth 0.54m; D 0.095m) is orientated NNE-SSW and consists of three parallel pieces of roundwood laid longitudinally. The roundwoods (L 3.82 max.; diam. 0.06-0.115m) were set approximately 0.2-0.3m apart. Only two or three pieces were evident at each sighting. Two of the roundwoods have been identified as alder with evidence of wedge shaped ends with the third piece having a chisel shaped toolmark. The wood was set in poorly humified peat with frequent Sphagnum, Eriophorum and pockets of ericaceous remains. The site has been radiocarbon dated to cal. AD 427-661 (Beta-118032).
