The National Monuments Service's description

The site (Wth 0.52m; D 0.13m) is orientated NE-SW and composed of two longitudinal split-oak timbers overlying a very large oak tree stump. The upper and lower surfaces of both timbers are heavily charred with the smaller half-split timber (diam. 0.093m) reduced to charcoal. The larger timber (Wth 0.39m; D 0.12m) is an outer tangential split that has disintegrated along the rays into three portions. There is no evidence for burning on the stump. This site is visible at the base of a drain and located 1m above the mineral soil.
