The National Monuments Service's description

National Monument No. 81. Late medieval rectangular church added to the E end of Temple Dowling (OF005-010) in the 17th-century known as Temple Hurpan (int. dims 7m E-W; 3.9m N-S). This addition is 50cms wider than Temple Dowling on the N side only. The W jamb of the S doorway was the original antae of Temple Dowling. E window consists of a large rectangular flat headed window with the W wall of the church being the E wall of Temple Dowling which has a small round headed window. (O' Donovan 1856-7, 448; Monahan 1886, 65; Westropp 1907; 285-7; Anon 1907, 335; Macalister 1910, 27; Molloy 1950, 5; Harbison 1972, 204)
