The National Monuments Service's description
Not visible at ground level. Depicted as a circular grove of trees on 1840 edition of the OS 6-inch map. Described by Reynolds (1977) as a small ringfort built on a rock outcrop which has been partly quarried away causing damage to the ringfort's interior from NE through E to S.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
