The National Monuments Service's description

The central of three mausoleums, which is structurally the earliest, probably had the inscription, now missing, commemorating Ardell Mac Coll Mac Mahon with the date 1672. The inscription in roman capitals read: IHS / THIS CHAPEL WAS / BUILT BY ARDELL M / AC COLL MACAMA / HON FOR HIMSEL/ FE AND HIS FAME / LLY IN THE YEAR ANNO DOM. 1672. (Bradshaw 1888, 225)
