The National Monuments Service's description

Located on the summit of a WNW-ESE drumlin ridge. It is depicted as an arc of hachures on the N side of a WNW-ESE field bank only on the 1907 edition of the OS 6-inch map. It survives as an overgrown platform (dims 19m E-W; c. 6m N-S) defined by a scarp (at NW: H 1.3m; at N: H 3m; at NE: H 0.8m) with no visible fosse N of the field bank. South of the field ban the scarp merges into the natural slope, although no clear limits can be identified here in ploughed ground.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
