The National Monuments Service's description

Located on the SE-facings spine of a small WNW-ESE drumlin ridge. This is a grass-covered oval area (dims 31m NW-SE; 23m NE-SW) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4.4m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 1.2m) WNW-N, which is reduced to a scarp (at SW: H 2.2m) elsewhere, although there is a slight bank (Wth 5m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1.4m) at SE. There is a berm (Wth 2-4m) around most of the overgrown perimeter, which is probably the remains of a fosse, and an outer bank (Wth 2m; ext. H 0.2m) or field bank surrounds the monument W-NE. The entrance (Wth of base 1.6m) is at SE. Rath (MO028-110----) is c. 90m to the NW.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
