The National Monuments Service's description

Located on a NW-SE spur overlooking Creevy Lough, a small circular lake (diam. c. 220-227m) c. 160m to the WSW at the nearest point. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. c. 42m N-S; 39m E-W) defined by a scarp (at E: Wth 1m; H 1.2m) with the remnant of an earthen bank (at W: Wth 2.m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.5m) and hedge SW-NW where it borders a N-S section of a private lane. There is no visible fosse or identifiable original entrance.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
