The National Monuments Service's description
Located on the summit of a NW-SE drumlin ridge. A circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 55m) is depicted at this location only on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in gothic script as a ‘fort’. There is a slight rise here but a NW-SE field bank bisects the area and there is no archaeological feature visible at ground level in pasture.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
