The National Monuments Service's description

Located on top of a drumlin. This is a circular grass and scrub-covered area (diam. 32.5m E-W; 32m N-S) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth of base 6.8-7m; int. H 1.2m; ext. H 3-3.2m) separated by a flat-bottomed fosse (Wth of top 7.4; Wth of base 2-3.6m; ext. D 0.3-0.5m) from an outer overgrown bank (Wth 4-5.2m; ext. H 0.4-0.6m) that is incorporated into a field bank, except E-SE. The entrance through the inner (Wth of base 1.2m) and outer (Wth c. 7m) banks with a causeway (Wth of top 2.8m; H 0.75m) is at S. There is an old quarry inside the perimeter at NW.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
