The National Monuments Service's description
Located at the summit of a hill, and just below the top of a N-facing cliff of rock outcrop (H c. 3m). At the foot of the cliff is a ledge (Wth 1.5-2m; L c. 6m) that has a slight barrier of lower rock outcrop (Wth c. 3m; max. ext. H c. 5m) to the N, and a farmhouse that was immediately to the NW has been removed. It was known as ‘The Altar Rock’ (Ó Gallachair 1957, 108) and in the cliff-face there is a ledge (L 1m; Wth 0.2-0.3m; H 1m) that could serve as an altar.
