The National Monuments Service's description
Located on the SE-facing spine of a NW-SE drumlin ridge. A circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 35m) incorporating the townland boundary with Ullinagh on the E side is depicted only on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map and where it is described in gothic script as a ‘fort’. It survives as a slightly raised scarp (H c. 0.5m) N-E-S (diam. c. 32m) with the townland boundary outside it.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
