The National Monuments Service's description

Located towards the S end of a N-S rise on the summit of an E-W drumlin ridge. This is a circular grass and scrub-covered area (diam. 34m N-S; 32m E-W) defined by an overgrown earthen bank that is incorporated into a road bank SW-NW, and an outer fosse SE-S. A gap at SSW could be the original entrance.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
