The National Monuments Service's description
Located at the summit of and towards the SE end of a NW-SE drumlin ridge. This is a subcircular grass-covered area (dims 29m NW-SE; 24.5m NE-SW) defined by an earthen bank incorporated into a field bank and hedge SE-S-NW and by a slight scarp (at N: Wth 4m; H 0.55m) elsewhere. There is no visible fosse or entrance. Inside the perimeter at NW a N-S depression (L 8m; Wth 3.4m; D 0.8m) with an E-W depression (dims 8.9m E-W; 3m N-S; D 0.6m) across its S end could represent a collapsed souterrain although no stone is present
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
